Modacalzado Fashion Show"

While MODACALZADO was on, fashion shows were held every day during the three days of the fair involving two groups of participating companies from Elda (Alicante) and Portugal. The shows took place on a catwalk which was set up in Hall 9. Everyday at 12 noon, Portugal showed its trends with collections from the firms Alain Bastiani, Coqueterra, Fly London, Dkode, Eject, Ricap, Joseph Louis, Tatuaggi, Sofwaves, Juba, Muratti and Felmini. On the Friday and Saturday afternoons, at 4.30 p.m., the companies from Elda got up onto the catwalk. On the Sunday, the day the fair came to a close, this same fashion show was held at 1.30 p.m. The participating companies were thirteen firms which form part of Elda Prestigio -Albiamar Calzado; Sjostrom Shoes, Creaciones Carmen Laura, Borse, Karmine Mode, Gondoline Sport, Calzapedic, Sticalza, Tiffany Shoes, Rubio Shoes, Nacho Rivera, Naughty Shoes, Garca and Riquelme- and Brenda Zaro and Paco Herrero, also from the same city.

ShoeRoom, footwear trend

The Institute of Innovation of the Balearic Islands (IDI) organised an exhibition entitled ShoeRoom, footwear trends. Located between Halls 6 and 8, it offered an overview of the present, past and future of footwear. Its more than 170 net square metres brought together the most outstanding features of the shoe industry in the Balearic Islands in three distinct areas: Evolution space; Action space and Reflection space with an area for resting and the possibility of previewing new footwear developments for the 2007 Autumn-Winter season.

Extraviados

Hall 9 housed an exhibition entitled Extraviados or Lost Shoes, which was organised by the pictorial group Eldado, comprising Miguel Davia, Jess Sevilla and Pablo Romn. According to Pablo Romn, the exhibition showed rebellious, ownerless footwear; shoes which you would never wear on your feet but which your imagination can wear.

Lpiz de Oro

Once again, the EldaFootwearMuseum collaborated with MODACALZADO in a retrospective exhibition of the 20 years of history of the Elda City International Young Designers Contest from 1984 to 2004, entitled the Lpiz de Oro. Located in Hall 10, it showed the best 25 pieces which competed in this contest over the course of two decades, as well as the winning pieces from the last contest.A video containing the images of the 167 pieces which form part of the complete collection of the Golden Pencil was also projected. Furthermore, a new edition of Golden Pencil 2006 has already been organised. It has two categories: Design and Finished Shoe for women and young fashion.

III Gala MIN

For its part, IBERPIEL MARROQUINERA has housed an exhibition of bags created by firms such as Victorio & Lucchino, Miriam Ocariz, Adolfo Domnguez, Converse, Pepe Jeans, Locking Shocking, Juanjo Oliva, Davidelfin and Alberto Tous, amongst others. They are unique pieces, with a style of their own, which have in common having incorporated into their designs the image of Min, a solidarity licence in doll form which collaborates with different NGOs. Once the fair is over, in the following weeks, these bags will be put on sale in the III Min Gala, which will take place in Madrid, and whose profits will go to the Menudos Corazones or Little Hearts Foundation.
